First-Time FAQs

Arrive Early

It can put you at ease if you arrive a little earlier to find a seat and say hello to people. Click here for our opening and Mass times.

Parking

There is parking at the rear of the Church in the School playground. Alternatively you can park on any of the nearby streets, front or back of the Church. There is disabled parking, for those who require, front or back.

First-Time FAQs

Absolutely. Come along to one of the Masses and we will give you a welcome. Check out the Mass Times page to see which Mass you think sounds good to begin with.

Normally around 60 minutes. However, some Masses are shorter and the 10:30AM Mass is slightly longer.

It depends on the Mass you attend. On the Mass Times page you’ll find information on what each Mass is like.

Weekend attendance at Mass averages somewhere between 1,500-2,000 people. In a Church our size you can blend into the crowd, if that’s what you prefer to do. But you’ll also be hearing about the many ways you can step up, get involved and get to know people.

Children's Liturgy

Our 9:00 AM Mass has a Children’s Liturgy during Term Time. During the Mass, after the opening hymn, the Priest will invite the children present to come forward. The children will go for their input and teaching with Trained Children’s Liturgy Volunteers.

Family Mass

Our 10:15 AM Mass is for families with small children who want a relaxed environment. The Priest celebrates Mass in a way to engage even the littlest of ones. Come along to this Mass in the Hall on Sundays.

Students

At some point you may want to attend Mass separately from your family. The 7:00 PM Sunday Mass is an uplifting celebration of the Mass. Come along for a different set and style of hymns.

Youth

At St Benedict’s we encourage everyone to be involved in ongoing formation and growth in their faith. For our youth there are a whole host of opportunities to grow in faith and friendship. Click here to see what we have going on.
