This page has various resources for different topics that are covered in our First Holy Communion programme to give additional support to our parents and children on their First Holy Communion Journey.

There are many topics which are important in the preparation of First Holy Communion. This page is designed to help your child understand a topic in more depth.

Below there are topics relevant to the sacrament. All you have to do is click on a topic your child wants to learn about, and it will take you to a page where there is an explanation, video, and activity around the topic.

As part of First Holy Communion preparation, there are a lot of topics that we cover to help you prepare. sometimes, there might be a topic that you want to know more about, or go over after the session. 

but before you choose a topic, it is important to know why it is such a special time in your faith journey. 

Why is making your First Holy Communion so special?

This is the time when you receive the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. When you are receiving Jesus in the Eucharist, you are welcoming Him into your heart, and growing in your relationship with Him.

There are many ways in which you can help prepare yourself for this amazing day. you prepare your mind by going to the preparation classes, and you prepare your heart by going to the Sacrament of Confession.

Anchor classes
Anchor takes place fortnightly on Thursdays between 4-5pm. Aimed at children who do not attend Catholic Schools, Anchor is a great way to engage in discussions and ask questions about our amazing faith. Although aimed at children not attending catholic schools, it is open to all children up to the age of 12. Bring them to Anchor to help in their journey towards their First Holy Communion.
